Austin Area Realizes Record Home Sales and Prices — What Does That Mean to You as a Buyer?

Median prices going up, home sales on the rise, properties on the market for fewer days — what should a buyer do in this seller’s market in the Austin area, especially when thinking affordability. According to the Austin Board of Realtors:

— Median home values increased to $230,530 in Austin, representing an 11 percent gain from February 2013;
— 1,761 single-family homes sold, nine percent more than February 2013; and
— 55 days single-family homes spent on the market, 16 days fewer than February 2013.
